Taylor Swift latest news: Does new video 'I Knew You Were Trouble' conjure Avril Lavigne (lyrics)

Okay,

First of all, I like the song and the sound. Not sure about Taylor's hair and look in this video because to me, it screams "I want to be Canadian, umm Avril Lavigne will do."

I'm one that likes Taylor's sugary-sweet, wholesome image with lace, button up blouses and full skirts. This look is edgier and trendier and maybe the song wouldn't hit the same audience if Taylor were prancing around in a "Little House on the Prairie" dress singing how one of the Wilder boys was trouble. I get it, but all (and I mean all) I can see is Avril Lavigne...and that means I'm comparing the song to her.
And, when I do that, I'm wondering what type of notes Avril would put into the chorus.

Am I the only one with Avril on the brain?

This is Taylor's song and video and I don't think it's fair to her as an artist that I'm comparing her to Avril.

It's not her fault.

Who decided to make her into little Avril?

 Geesh.

 Okay, here's the video.

What do you think?

Are you making Avril Lavigne comparisons or is it just me?

Here is the official Taylor Swift video with lyrics.

 What do you think?

A bit edgy?

Lyrics (may not be perfect)

"I Knew You Were Trouble"

Once upon a time a few mistakes ago
I was in your sights, you got me alone
You found me, you found me, you found me
I guess you didn't care, and I guess I liked that
And when I fell hard you took a step back
Without me, without me, without me

And he's long gone when he's next to me
And I realize the blame is on me

'Cause I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I'd never been
'Til you put me down, oh
I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I'd never been
Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble

No apologies, he'll never see you cry
Pretend he doesn't know that he's the reason why
You're drowning, you're drowning, you're drowning
Now I heard you moved on from whispers on the street
A new notch in your belt is all I'll ever be
And now I see, now I see, now I see

He was long gone when he met me
And I realize the joke is on me, hey!

I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I'd never been
'Til you put me down, oh
I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I'd never been
Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble

And the saddest fear comes creeping in
That you never loved me or her, or anyone, or anything, yeah

I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I'd never been
'Til you put me down, oh
I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I'd never been
Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble

I knew you were trouble when you walked in
Trouble, trouble, trouble
I knew you were trouble when you walked in
Trouble, trouble, trouble
